At Jana Kalyana Trust, we believe in the power of art to shape communities, preserve culture, and create opportunities for rural artists across India. Our journey began in the enchanting city of Gudibande, located in the heart of the Chikkaballapur District in the Indian State of Karnataka. Gudibande is steeped in history, and its iconic Gudibande Fort stands as a testament to the rich cultural heritage of this region.
Far from the urban settlements and about 100 kms from Bengaluru, lies the rocky town of Gudibande, steeped in rich history and its stories told by the towering walls of its magnificent rocky fort. Gudibande is known to have derived its name from the age-old Narasimha Swamy temple, located in a naturally formed rock cave atop the stony hillock named Ahobila Narasimha Gudda
This small little town, which is located in Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka state, is known for its tranquil Byrasagara Lake, green grasslands and rocky hillocks that offer visual treat and soul-stirring experience for nature lovers, history butts and tourists alike. The views from the top are impressive enough for the beholder to sit back and savour the fresh beauty of nature.
We collaborate with local artisans, providing them with training, resources, and a platform to showcase their craftsmanship. By nurturing their talents, we ensure that traditional art forms continue to thrive.
We work tirelessly to preserve and document indigenous art forms, music, dance, and oral traditions. Through research and cultural festivals, we celebrate the rich tapestry of India's rural culture.
We engage with rural communities, organizing workshops, exhibitions, and cultural events. These interactions foster a sense of pride in local traditions and encourage younger generations to embrace their heritage.
We believe that education is key to preserving culture. We conduct educational programs in schools and communities, enlightening the youth about the importance of their cultural heritage.
Become a part of our dedicated team and contribute your skills and time to support rural artists.
